Wording your Wedding Invitation Designs

One of your first steps in choosing your wedding invitation design is deciding on how to word your wedding invitations. There are many different styles, themes and traditions when it comes to wording your wedding invitation, which is why it is so important for brides to understand their options when it comes to wedding invitation wording.

One the most important things to remember when wording your wedding invitation is to maintain the same style and format throughout your wedding invitation set. Whatever font, color scheme or design aesthetic your decide to use to word your wedding invitation, make sure to follow that same pattern throughout your wedding invitation set.

When wording your wedding invitation, make sure to consider the venue, wedding theme and style. Depending on the level of formality, there are many different levels of conventional wedding invitation wording that might be best suited for your invitation set.

If you are planning a fun, non-traditional wedding celebration, this should be reflected in how you word your wedding invitation. Choose a whimsical text, use unconventional language and consider unique colors for your wording. Likewise, if your wedding ceremony is going to follow religious or ethnic customs, this should be communicated in the manner in which you word your wedding invitation.

One of the most frequent mistakes that brides (and careless printers) make is forgetting to maintain a consistent pronoun usage throughout the wedding invitation set. When developing the wording for your wedding invitation, make sure the ‘you’ ‘we’ ‘us’ and ‘them’ match in a grammatically correct manner.

One of the reasons it is so important to work with professionals when designing and wording your wedding invitations is they can help you through this sometimes confusing process. But remember, no matter what the conventions, this is your wedding invitation and should look, feel and be worded the way you want.

This is great advice! With all the planning that goes into a wedding it is hard to remember the little things that make all the difference. When you are trying to plan the seating arrangements, dinner menu, wedding registry, flower arrangements and everything else, you can miss out on the small details that will make your day wonderfully special.
