Everyone bride tries to find ways to save money on their wedding invitations. But finding affordable wedding invitations does not mean you should sacrifice the quality, beauty and elegance that you have always wanted. To help budget brides find the affordable wedding invitations they are dreaming of, I am going to give you a short list of easy suggestions that will help you save money.
Shop Around
When looking for affordable and unique wedding invitations online, make sure to ask several different printers what their prices are and compare what they are offering to the cost of the invitations. Be sure to request samples to ensure the print quality.
Specials on Letterpress
The best way to find affordable and exquisite wedding invitations is to find specials on letterpress wedding invitations online. Not all printers offer season specials, but working with the ones that do can end up saving you hundreds of dollars.
RSVP postcards
Instead of printing an additional RSVP card and envelope set, combine the two pieces and use an RSVP postcard. Budget savvy brides are moving toward the RSVP postcard because it offers them an opportunity to have the unique and beautiful wedding invitation set they have always wanted at a more affordable price.
While DIYing your whole wedding invitation set can be a more trouble than it is worth (and you can almost never get the same quality and aesthetic of letterpress), DIYing an envelope liner or add-on to your invitation set can really boost your invitation sets overall appeal with very many additional costs.

Wedding Announcements and Wedding Invitations Instructions
For your wedding, it is important to know when to send wedding announcement cards and when to use wedding invitations. Both of these wedding items have a specific purpose and should be used accordingly. Here are a few simple tips on when to send a wedding invitation or a wedding announcement.
Wedding announcements are typically sent to guests that are not invited to the actual wedding ceremony and are mailed after the event. This serves as a reminder or an official announcement that you and your fiancé have tied the knot. For destination weddings with a limited seating capacity, wedding announcements are a perfect way to notify all your friends and family that your nuptials have taken place.
Sending wedding invitations to your guests is typically the way that brides announce and invite their friends and family to their wedding celebration. Wedding invitations should only be sent to individuals that you would actually like to come to your ceremony or celebration.
Send your wedding invitations at least 6-8 weeks before the actual event. This allows your guests enough time to save the date on their calendars, make any needed travel and accommodation arrangements, shop for clothes and gifts.
After receiving her daughter’s wedding invitations, Carol said :
“I want to thank you for all the help and work on Annie’s invites. The invitation was a standard for us to hold the rest of the wedding decor to. It also was one of the most beautiful pieces of stationery ever! Once again, thanks for capturing a vision and making it a reality.” ~ Fondly, Carol (mother of the bride)
Everyone needs a little reminder of what the proper etiquette procedures are when it comes to bridal invitations. Whether you are sending out bridal shower invitations or bridal wedding invitations, knowing what to do and what not to do is helpful.
To help your bridal wedding invitation search and give you all the proper etiquette ideas that you will need, here is a quick little list of dos and don’ts in the bridal wedding invitation arena.
Don’t wait until the last minute to address and send out your bridal wedding invitations. It is customary to mail your invitations 6-8 weeks before the event.
Do invite your friends over to help you stuff and address your invites.
One of the best parts about blogging about letterpress wedding invitation designs is I get to see some of the most amazing wedding invitation ideas around. Recently when searching for fun wedding invitation idea and themes, I stumbled upon a site that had five of the most unique wedding invitation ideas I had ever seen.
While these are not letterpress wedding invitations, they remind me of how important custom, personalized and unique wedding invitation ideas really are. If you are a bride that loves to be creative, consider integrating a funny theme or your favorite movie into your wedding invitation design.
Taking part of their vows to the visual extreme, this couple made a custom wedding invitation with a ‘haunting’ theme.
Somewhere between a computer and a wedding invitation, this custom wedding invitation design almost fools the reader into thinking they are holding the world’s lightest laptop.
While most brides would probably prefer to insert their best photo into their wedding invitation, this couple’s ruffled look fits the profile.
This custom wedding invitation tells the long version of true love’s story. Though this couple may have added a few more details than necessary, I admire their unique sense of style.
When thinking about your custom wedding invitation ideas, don’t be afraid to go for the gold and do something completely out of the ordinary.

Fun, Funky and Fantastically Themed Wedding Invitation
Everyone loves seeing wedding invitations that have amazing themes or custom designs that mimic a particular fairytale or story. Some brides go all out when they design their invitations with themes as diverse as the brides themselves.
When thinking about your wedding invitations, think about the theme of your wedding. If you are having a wedding on a beach, a fall or spring wedding or a special floral theme, consider including these themes in your wedding invitation design.
For all you spring brides, spring themed wedding invitations can be designed in a variety of shapes and styles. When designing your spring themed wedding invitation, consider your venue location, floral arrangements and favorite springtime activity. Any of these can become the perfect theme for your spring wedding invitation.
Recently we designed a beach themed destination wedding invitation that I absolutely adored. The bride chose a landmark that could be seen from the ceremony venue and we included it in the wedding invitation design. This lighthouse themed wedding invitation was a huge hit among her guests. click here to request free samples of Cape Cod

Have any of you seen the birthday cakes that they put pictures on? If you bring a picture to the right supermarket or specialty bakery, they will use different colors of frosting to “print” the picture onto the top of the cake. I have no idea how it actually happens, but I still find the process rather fascinating.
I was at a wedding about a year ago where the bride and groom did this. First they had a professional photographer take a couple different portraits of them before the wedding. Then they chose their favorite one and had it printed on the top layer (only two layers) of the cake. It made for a lively discussion during the reception and overall was a hit. And no, the groom did not put any cake in the bride’s face, that would just be weird.
Speaking of photos though, another great place to include a picture is somewhere in the wedding invitation. This couple decided the best way to invite people to share in their love was to include photos in their save the date card that expressed how they felt about each other.
While thinking about your letterpress wedding invitations, why not include a special photo of you and your betrothed? It can add an extra special vibe to your invitation set.
