Wedding Invitation Motifs Throughout Your Wedding Day

Remember Jamie’s destination wedding that we featured last month?

Our recent bride Jamie invited her guests to her wedding celebration with Ajalon’s delightful Black Tie letterpress wedding invitation design. A customized monogram is the focal point of this elegant design, and Jamie did an amazing job in utilizing it within her wedding events. The monogram looks wonderful at the top of her wedding celebration programs.

Monograms are an easy way to customize the venue you are using for your wedding ceremony or reception. A customized event poster with your initials on it is an amazing way to utilize that personalized monogram, and makes the venue seem like it was made for your big day.

John Krasinski and Emily Blunt Tie the Knot

Everybody loves John Krasinski, better known as “Jim” from The Office. Last season he and Scranton branch beauty “Pam” got married, and in about a month he is actually getting married in the real world to Emily Blunt. Typically I am not very interested in the wedding plans of most celebrities, however I recently heard a rumor about this wedding’s invitations that peaked my interest.

That’s right, I heard that the couple to be were ordering custom letterpress wedding invitations. I can only imagine how unique and personalized the couple’s letterpress wedding invitations will look. Will it have gold foil stamping, monograms, custom envelopes and extraordinary colors? For them the sky is the limit.

Needless to say, as John Krasinski and Emily Blunt have demonstrated, if you want to make a strong first impression on your guests, the only thing you should consider are letterpress wedding invitations.

We are so excited about this awesome event! The 2009 Dulhania Bazaar Bridal Expo in Phoenix is going to be a Super Fabulous Extravaganza for South Asian and Indian brides that you won’t want to miss. In addition to free admission, live entertainment, raffles and food, Invitations by Ajalon will be unveiling many of our newest spring letterpress wedding invitation designs.

We have been working for several months to develop some absolutely exquisite South Asian and Indian inspired invitation sets. And on November 22^nd at the JW Marriot Desert Ridge Resort you will have the opportunity to see them. Every summer I make it a point to visit the Ashland Shakespeare Festival at least once. Over the years I have seen most of the traditional Shakespearian plays performed, so this time I thought I would try something new. Sarah Ruhl’s Dead Man’s Cell Phone is the delightful story of meaning and personal relationships in our crazy world of modern technology.

There were a couple segments that dealt with both printing, letterpresses, stationery and life that I would like to share with you. There is certainly a level of wisdom and thought surrounding the printing process that Ruhl, who was not a printer, put into this play. Think about the words, ideas and implications of writing:

Dwight: All the digital–stuff–the information bits—flying through the air—no one wants to remember. People say I love you—on cell phones—and where does it go? No paper. Remembering requires paper…I work at a stationery store. I like paper.

Jean: I love stationery. Do you do monograms? And the embossed invitations?

Dwight: We do.

Jean: I love those! When you touch the invitations, it feels so nice. Creamy, and thick, and you can close your eyes and feel the words. I think heaven must be like an embossed invitation.

Dwight: Yes. Creamy, and flat and deep. Like skin. Or—heaven—you were saying about heaven?

Jean: I’ve never sent out an embossed invitation. But I’d like to. One day.

It is good to know that someone else gets as excited about invitations, monograms, embossed printing and beautiful stationery as we do. In a world of emails, websites and impersonal interaction, the power of the written word on paper has only increased.

When thinking about your wedding invitation sets, consider the impression they will make on your guests. Flat, lifeless, traditionally printed invitations are acceptable, but will never carry the same symbolic power and significance as a bold, textured, handcrafted letterpress invitation.
