Letterpress Wedding Invitations On the Rise

There has been a lot of discussion in the wedding invitation world recently about whether or not brides will be choosing to simply send out an e-vite and set up a website to have people RSVP online. While this may seem like reasonable option, even tech savvy brides are still choosing to have their wedding invitations printed on paper, the traditional way.

What I have discovered and what all the brides to be already knew, is that NOTHING can compare to the emotion that your guests feel when they open your letterpress wedding invitations that are printed on a soft, thick and textured paper.

What no website can provide is a unique, personal, physical wedding invitation experience that letterpress invitations consistently produce.

While online RSVP’s do have some environmental merits, overall the digital invitations are no match for the quality and character of letterpress wedding invitations.

Recently we have been noticing an increase in bilingual wedding invitation requests. Brides to be and their families are concerned that all their guests may not be able to read the standard English invitation sets that are typically ordered. Luckily, designing, wording and printing a bilingual wedding invitation set is much easier than most brides could ever imagine.

With our digital and letterpress printing capabilities, expert customer service and design staff, bilingual wedding invitations can become very affordable. How to Word Wedding Invitations
From Formal to Fun, Expert Advice is Helpful

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

Choosing the right words for your wedding invitations is an important task. From non-traditional families to specific cultural or religious ceremonies, picking the right wording for your wedding invitation (which hopefully will be letterpress) requires careful consideration.

When thinking about wording your (letterpress ;) ) wedding invitations it is important to keep a couple key points in mind:

Is your event a formal or casual affair? This information is very important in your wedding invitation wording because it sets the tone for your guests expectations and attire.

Are there any specific cultural or religious ceremonies in your wedding celebration? The words you choose and the way you set up your invitation should clearly indicate if there is anything that your guests should be expecting or prepared for. Whether it be a South East Asian or Indian ceremony, a Jewish, Muslim or secular celebration, one way or another, let your guests know with the words you choose for your wedding invitation.

Which families are hosting the event and more importantly, who is paying. While this may seem a little outdated or unimportant, one of the main reasons the parents are included in the wedding invitation is because they typically are paying the bills. If this is not the case, or your family decides it is not necessary, then feel free to word as you wish.

However you word your wedding invitation, make sure to spend a little time doing some research, discuss it with your spouse-to-be and do not simply choose the wording that your printer decides is easiest (cheapest). Feel free to request changes and make your invitation uniquely your own.

Instead of Something Blue, Something Green-
Letterpress Wedding Invitation Design Ideas

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

Planning your wedding can be a complicated process. With so many different things to remember, who has time to think about the planet? Luckily, in the field of letterpress wedding invitations alone, there are several different ways that you can go green.

While wedding invitations are typically not the first things that come to mind when you envision a green wedding ceremony there are several different letterpress invitation designs that incorporate really amazing green ideas.

Go Tree Free

Our 100% recycled cotton paper is made without any tree products. Meaning, in the world of green, the paper we use to print letterpress wedding invitation sets is without parallel.

RSVP on the Web

Some brides are choosing to print their RSVP information directing their guests to the wedding website, on the wedding invitation envelope flap. You can use the same colors and design as the invitation set and it can even be done with letterpress. This way, you save the added resources of printing an extra RSVP card, and the added cost of postage too!

Think Soy

Soy oil ink is available in many bright and wondrous colors, and it is created without a lot of the harmful chemicals that traditional petroleum based inks contain. This makes your invitations not only more easily recyclable, but much less pollution is created in the printing process.

How to Plan an Eco Friendly Wedding
*Hint* Letterpress Wedding Invitations are Important!

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

Planning eco-friendly weddings is a growing trend in 2010. Brides to be that are environmentally conscious are looking for new ways to integrate green solutions into their dream weddings. Luckily, I can honestly tell you that sending letterpress wedding invitations to your guests is one of the least expensive, most effective ways to cut the carbon emissions and environmental footprint of your wedding.

Allow me to explain:

We print our letterpress wedding invitations on Cranes Lettra 100% tree-free, recycled cotton paper that not only did not cause any trees to be cut down, but it was made using recycled cotton fibers. They have a comprehensive green commitment.

Also, our letterpress wedding invitations are printed using soy oil inks. These are NOT-petroleum based inks like the industry standard. They contain far fewer harmful chemicals and are more easily recycled.

An optional addition to throw into the eco-minded mix is sending out an RSVP postcard without the need for an additional envelope. Not only will this reduce the amount of paper needed for your letterpress invitation set, but you will even save money on postage and printing.

While there are many ways to reduce your weddings carbon footprint, tree free, letterpress invitations are certainly the most elegant. And you may be pleased to know that there is a special for 100 invitations and RSVP postcards that dramatically reduces the costs traditionally associated with letterpress printing.

Haiti Earthquake Disaster Relief
from Letterpress Wedding Invitation Printer

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

In this season of engagements, bridal parties and of course, letterpress wedding invitations, it is rare that our attention here at Invitations by Ajalon would be focused on anything but these exciting affairs.

But something has happened in the international arena that we cannot ignore. A national disaster in Haiti caused by a series of massive earthquakes necessitates our help in the relief efforts.

While we have made personal donations to several charities, we’d like to take it one step further. That is why we are proud to announce that during this wedding season we will be donating 100% of the price of every letterpress wedding invitation sample package ordered from us to Doctors Without Borders.

Doctors Without Borders is an international medical humanitarian organization created by doctors and journalists in France in 1971. Today, Doctors Without Borders provides aid in nearly 60 countries to people whose survival is threatened by violence, neglect, or catastrophe, primarily due to armed conflict, epidemics, malnutrition, exclusion from health care, or natural disasters.

While each individual gesture may seem small ($10), combined together our efforts can and will make a difference for the people in Haiti. There are countless charities that are tirelessly working in Haiti to bring much needed food, water and medical supplies to the displaced peoples. While on the home front the best thing we can do to support in this relief effort is to give donations and, if you are so inclined, to pray for the victims of this tragedy.

From everyone here at Invitations by Ajalon we would like to thank all the relief workers in Haiti. We are sending our support in all the ways we can, so that these workers are better able to serve the communities they are working in.
