I love shoes, so of course my wedding shoes were going to have to be something amazing.  I started researching different shoes.  I fell in love with the recent trend of brides who wear colored shoes, and decided that would be a good route for me, since I never wear white shoes.  Originally I thought they would be my “something blue” a la Carrie Bradshaw.  These were the first shoe that I had my heart set on by Rene’ Caovilla, but I was never able to find them (and now that I deleted the link from my computer I can’t find them at all—sorry!) They were blue pointed-toe sling backs with beading and pearls on them.  After giving up on those shoes, I checked out the Cole Haan Air Ceci Rose Sling:

I really liked these shoes, but I would’ve probably wanted to dye them to another color, and my fiancé suggested that if I was going to make such an investment in a pair of shoes that I should find a pair that came how I wanted them.  I agreed, so I nixed the Cole Haans and kept looking.

I upped my search a bit, and started looking at mega-designers, like Manolo Blahnik, Jimmy Choo, and my favorite shoe designer, Christian Louboutin.  Once I tried on a pair of the Louboutins, I knew I had to have a pair.  I tried on several, including these:

I liked a lot of these, but some were a bit over-budget, but mostly I just didn’t LOVE any of them.  So I kept looking.  After dragging my bridesmaids to every store in the Boston area that carries Christian Louboutins, we went to Barney’s New York at Copley Place.  It was there, in their “clearance” section that I found my true loves, which I will be wearing for my wedding day:

This picture does them no justice.  The color is called “Shocking Pink”; I call it “Barbie-pink”.  I wanted a high heel since Chris is about 9 inches taller than me, and they are about 4.75” high but extremely comfortable!

All in all, shoe shopping was one of the best parts of wedding planning!  I am so excited about my shoes and can’t wait to rock these red-soled babies on my wedding day!

When thinking about wording your (letterpress ) wedding invitations it is important to keep a couple key points in mind:

Is your event a formal or casual affair? This information is very important in your wedding invitation wording because it sets the tone for your guests expectations and attire.

Are there any specific cultural or religious ceremonies in your wedding celebration? The words you choose and the way you set up your invitation should clearly indicate if there is anything that your guests should be expecting or prepared for. Whether it be a South East Asian or Indian ceremony, a Jewish, Muslim or secular celebration, one way or another, let your guests know with the words you choose for your wedding invitation.

Which families are hosting the event and more importantly, who is paying. While this may seem a little outdated or unimportant, one of the main reasons the parents are included in the wedding invitation is because they typically are paying the bills. If this is not the case, or your family decides it is not necessary, then feel free to word as you wish.

However you word your wedding invitation, make sure to spend a little time doing some research, discuss it with your spouse-to-be and do not simply choose the wording that your printer decides is easiest (cheapest). Feel free to request changes and make your invitation uniquely your own.

At their leisure your wedding guests can come to the computer, type in their names, record, preview, re-record if needed and save their loving message.

Your video/faces will show up in the white space when recording

The program is available with several different themes and colors and at only $99 the amount of fun your wedding guests will have with this service it is well worth it. While traditional guest books are typically a little less, they are not nearly as entertaining during the wedding or as amusing to watch later.

Overall, this is probably one of the coolest tech inventions for weddings I have ever seen. Enjoy the webcam-ing!
