Explore an Indian Winter Wonderland

Generally when you think of a winter wedding, what comes to mind? I know that for me the answer is a white, snowy, crystal covered affair, and I’m sure I’m not alone. If you’re planning a multicultural Indian wedding however, a white-on-white wedding is probably not what you’re envisioning, as white is generally a somber color worn at funerals. So how do you embrace tradition while still making your guests feel like they are walking into a winter wonderland? The key is in the color palette! By creating a color palette of white, silver, gold, and RED, you will still give your wedding the light and sparkle of the season, while incorporating some Indian flare!

Check out my vision of an Indian winter wonderland, and let me know your thoughts in the comments section below!

Indian bride and goom red and white winter wedding

These red and cream outfits make a stunning contrast to the snowy white backdrop. The addition of silver and gold embroidery, and crystal beading really ties in the winter feel.

This booklet-style invitation gives guests a glimpse of the white and red festivities to come. This couple also chose to gold foil stamp the cover of their invitation for an added level of opulence.

Indian winter ceremony space with crystal covered trees

Create that winter wonderland feel by lining your red aisle with crystal-covered trees. Not opulent enough? Hang candles for added sparkle and dimension.

Though this color palette and motif is stunning year round, these red, gold, and cream colors work beautifully for an multicultural winter wedding.

If you’re hosting a multicultural wedding, you may want to mix in a few traditional Western holiday elements. This couple chose to add some ornaments and wreaths to their red, gold, and white reception space.

If you’re looking for a super lux invitation for your holiday nuptials, try gold foil on red paper stock.

seven tier Indian winter wedding cake

This super-ornate, seven-tier wedding cake is definitely a show stopper. I love the detailed pipework and the touch of green in the gemstones.
