Wording Your Wedding Invitation
What Will Your Font Look Like?

Thursday, February 11th, 2010

Wedding invitation fonts are an important aspect of the overall wedding invitation design. Beyond the color, word choice and overall theme of your invitation, the font that you choose speaks volumes about your celebration and really sets the tone for your guests’ expectations.

Many online wedding invitation printers have only a couple stock font  samples to view or choose from which can be limiting at best and frustrating at worst. That is why I decided to show you some of my favorite wedding invitation font possibilities that are all totally amazing:

This font comes from the Avani invitation set and is shown letterpress printed with foil:

Another Indian wedding invitation card, this font is comes from the Devi collection:

A much simpler yet appealing font design comes from the Beginnings invitation set:

Displayed with a red foil, this font belongs to the Lalita 2 , Indian invitation card:

Soft, straight forward and smart, this font is part of the Bethany design:

Part of a whimsical yet classic invitation design, this font style belongs to Chopin:

Another great contemporary font choice, this Cape Cod design holds a special elegance and ease:

Invitations by Ajalon Attended
The Dulhania Bazaar South Asian Bridal Expo

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

We were invited this year to the Dulhania Bazaar South Asian Bridal Expo in Phoenix to display our new South Asian themed letterpress wedding invitation designs.  The weekend was a total blast! I have never seen so many eager and excited brides. Vendors came from all around the country to show off their beautiful South Asian wedding garments, dishware, jewelry, accessories and of course, letterpress invitations.

Right as I walked into the main room of the event, I was greeted by an absolutely exquisite runway. The organizers decorated the walking area with a beautiful array of flower petals in an intricate design.

Of course it was not long before the music started, the lights were dimmed and the amazing fashion show started. South Asian runway models were showing off many of the latest designs for traditional brides and bridesmaids dresses. The crowd was totally enthusiastic and I could hear the ‘ohhs’ and ‘awws’ whenever a new dress was being displayed.

One of my favorite parts of the show was seeing the wedding table decorations and displays. There were some absolutely amazing designs, themes and colors that simply took my breath away. It is no wonder why South Asian wedding celebrations are so beautiful.

Overall the show was a lot of fun. We met with a great group of brides and we are already excited about attending this show next year!

Exciting New Wedding Invitations
For the Nature Lover:

Friday, November 13th, 2009

Hot off the press, we have created yet another charming bridal invitation design. This new letterpress invitation set includes an adorable little bird nestled alongside unique fonts to create an all together fanciful and fun design.

The tastefully-added elegance of the second layer of blue paper magically takes this invitation set to a whole new level of beauty. It really is amazing to see how much of a difference a simple sheet of colored paper can make.

Printed with blueberry and espresso inks, this ‘fowl’ design is anything but that with the complementary tuft of curly peacock feathers on the RSVP postcard.

Anyone who has been a part of the planning process for a wedding, your own or otherwise, understands how important flawless customer service is. Which is why we were so pleased to receive this feedback from one of our brides after receiving her Bethany invitations:

“The invitations are BEAUTIFUL! I am so thankful for all the time and attention you gave to our order. You were so patient with me and helped us decide on the right color and design. Without your help, I doubt we would be as pleased as we are.

I’m impressed at how prompt you and your staff is at attending to customers. The personal touch is so refreshing after dealing with wedding vendors.”

Full Service Wedding and Event Planner
Knows no Boundaries
Say Hello to Events by Evonne

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

This wedding planner has done it all. From traveling the world and living on three different continents, to designing and organizing her own destination wedding in O’ahu, Evonne is amazing. She started her own boutique full service wedding and event planning company, Events by Evonne, and has not looked back since.

Hosted by imgur.com

Though she primarily works around the San Francisco Bay area and O’ahu, her outstanding wedding planning knowledge knows no boundaries. After planning over 300 weddings, there is a certain level of expertise that can be expected from such a wonderful professional.

Hosted by imgur.com

But don’t take my word, read the praise from a bride of a beautifully organized Events by Evonne wedding in London:

“Evonne was great to work with! She coordinated our private wedding at the Haiku Mill on Maui. The location was gorgeous and it was exactly what we wanted. She made planning completely stress-free and our wedding day ran smoothly. Evonne responded quickly to our emails, answered all our questions, and made wonderful suggestions.”

I would like to thank Events by Evonne  for recently featuring our letterpress wedding invitation giveaway.

New Colors for Spring 2010
What you Need to Know for Your
Letterpress Wedding Invitations

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

Brides, when planning your wedding decorations, colors are very important. From table linens to party favors, bridesmaid dresses to flowers, your wedding is going to be filled with many different colors.

Coordinating themes by mixing and matching different colors can be a difficult process. You want something that is fashionable, new, exciting and beautiful, but searching through endless bridal magazines can be tiresome and who has the time these days?

Luckily there is an easier way. Every year our friends at Pantone colors create fresh new color combinations that I thought might be helpful for you to mix and match from. When thinking about your wedding theme, and inevitably your wedding invitation, consider these color palettes as a helpful nudge in the right direction:

Tale:

Hosted by imgur.com

These colors are soft, classic, and mix well together. Perfect for an early spring wedding. In the words of Pantone, Tale is “Romantic and pure, embodying a palette of subtle shades of pale.”

Spellbound:

Hosted by imgur.com

These comfortable, subtle blues blend together to give a feeling of harmony. They remind me of the spring rains that wash away those winter worries (and hopefully fall on a day other than your wedding).

Shamanism:

Hosted by imgur.com

Using natural colors that remind us of vibrant and warmer climates, this color palette is perfect for an early summer or southwest wedding. While the colors may appear weak on their own, taken together in a colorful combination, these colors convey a powerful emotion and strong desire.

Remember, it is possible to custom mix and match any ink color that you want. If you were wondering about a color that was not listed here, please feel free to contact us. No colors are excluded with us!

Fall Weddings Unveiled
Design and Style for the Southern Bride

Wednesday, October 21st, 2009

It must be that time of year! Weddings Unveiled recently released their fall 2009 magazine. In the words of one of the authors, “Weddings Unveiled is the hottest bridal magazine in print for the modern Southern sophisticate”, and I cannot agree more.

Hosted by imgur.com

After perusing a couple pages I was already falling in love with the beautiful bridal designs and dresses. These people really know their styles! From formal white gowns with sophisticated accessories to fun yet fashionable dresses with flair, this magazine is a ‘love affair’ at first sight.

Saving plenty of creativity for the floral selections, I was in awe at the beautiful seasonal arrangements. With a little help from Amy Osaba in Atlanta, GA, these autumn flower displays fall nothing short of smart Southern style.

Hosted by imgur.com

On behalf of all of us at Invitations by Ajalon I would like to express my thanks for Weddings Unveiled featuring our most recent contest on their website. In tough times like these, the more people that know about free letterpress wedding invitation giveaways the better!
