Multi-Cultural/Fusion Wedding Etiquette
Be a Good Guest

Are you planning on attending a Multicultural/Fusion wedding? If so, we have some tips to help you be the perfect wedding guest!

Multicultural Indian weddings  usually include two ceremonies, here are a few dos and don’ts.

  • Never wear black or white, unless otherwise noted, as they represent mourning.
  • Be colorful but conservative. No plunging necklines or open shoulders.
  • Carry along a scarf or handkerchief, as it may be customary to cover your head during the ceremony.

Mazel tov! Attending a Jewish fusion wedding?

  • Dress moderately, avoid sleeveless, open back, or short dresses.
  • Ladies, be careful wearing white. Leave that for the blushing bride.
  • Try to stick to monetary gifts or items that can be easily returned.

Chinese a go go!

  • Avoid wearing red.  This is a color that is sacred and for the bride.
  • When giving gifts, make sure that what your giving is not considered unlucky.
  • Always remember to thank the bride and groom for allowing you to share in their joyous celebration.

If your planning on attending a fusion wedding, have fun, enjoy yourself, and remember…stay classy!

Marry Me: Four of the Sweetest Ways to Pop the Question During the Holidays

The holidays are such a lovely time of year–and many boyfriends make it lovelier by getting down on one knee!

Here are four of the sweetest ways that we’ve heard to ask your sweetheart if she’ll be yours forever. Hopeful grooms-to-be, take note! There is nothing more special than to remember together each year, for the rest of your lives, the charming way that you asked for her hand.

  1. On the Tree

This one can happen many ways–with a ring right on the branch, or with a cute proposal ornament from somewhere like etsy.
You can also be like these sweethearts and pop the question at the Christmas tree farm, with a little more pre-planning required.

  2. With Cocoa

Make it a beverage she’ll never forget: and include a keepsake that she can enjoy forever! There is nothing like finishing your morning coffee with a wedding proposal to start the day off right.

Careful, though–a friend of mine who proposed to his wife this way says that “her drinking that cocoa was the longest wait of my life!”

  3. Spell it Out

This one can be trickier to pull off–but is well worth it! Might be a good one if you want to propose in front of her parents or friends. Set up the game and arrange for her to leave the room, and when she returns, it will be to a board with just these words on it!

  4. With Holiday Lights

Were you proposed to at the holidays? What did your sweetie do?
